Corrina,Corrina

Corrina

by Jesse Ed Davis / Taj Mahal
recording of 19
from Taj Mahal 1980 (Just A Memory Record 3) & In Progress & In Motion (1965-1998) (Columbia/Legacy 64919), copyright notice

I got a bird what whistles, baby got a bird
Honey got a bird ... it would sing, baby got a bird
Honey got a bird ... it would sing
Without my Corrina, sure don't mean ..., sure don't mean a natural thing

I learned to love you baby, honey for I call
Baby for I call your name, baby for I call
Honey for I call your name, I love you Corrina
It sure don't mean, it sure don't mean a natural thing

Have mercy, have mercy, baby on my hard luck
Honey on my hard luck soul, baby on my hard luck
Honey on my hard luck soul

I got a rainbow round my shoulder
Looks like silver, shines like Klondike1 gold

Well I love you honey, honey tell the world, baby tell the world I do
Honey tell the world I do, baby tell the world I do
Ain't no woman in fourteen counties, love me baby like the way I do

I got a bird what whistles, baby got a bird
Honey got a bird ... it would sing, baby got a bird
Honey got a bird ... it would sing
Without Corrina, sure don't mean, sure don't mean a natural thing

Corrina, Corrina, Corrina

Nice primary colours and shapes. I can imagine what the song would be like by looking at this.

In case you didn't get back to my blog I'll past answer/comment here:
Nooo - don't go mad Neil:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langston_Hughes
Poem "Harlem" (sometimes called "Dream Deferred") from Montage of a Dream Deferred (1951), from which a line was taken for the title of the play "A Raisin in the Sun."

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

cool! thank you very much Neil for the dinner invite!! I will def. remember should I find myself in Toronto. Hear it's a great place. I'm probably relocating soon-(somewhere Northeast coast US) not sure - will extend dinner open invite to you and yours when I get there- should you find yourself there.
